United to Hold Talks Over Sabitzer Signing With Bayern Munich in Summer

The 29-year-old midfielder has made a pretty solid impact since arriving at United and featured often for Erik ten Hag’s side. Romano adds that the Red Devils are also happy with the impact made by the loanee so far in his spell at the club.

It’s also stated that United are hoping to hold talks with the German club over a possible deal to make his move permanent after the end of the season. Romano also adds that there have been no changes in plans for Sabitzer himself, as he intends to stay at Old Trafford after his loan spell ends. That could be because the Austrian star is getting more game-time at United than he received at Bayern earlier this season.

United’s January Signings Bringing Mixed Results

The Red Devils signed two players in the January window, both of them coming as loan deals. Alongside Sabitzer, they also signed striker Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley, and he has only been able to score two goals in 20 appearances for United so far.

Sabitzer – who was hailed as “amazing” by Luke Shaw after his debut against Crystal Palace – has considerably been a much better acquisition and added more depth to their midfield line. He’s been able to play in a variety of roles for Ten Hag’s side, including as a no.10 to allow Bruno Fernandes to play deeper than usual. He has made 12 appearances so far for United, scoring one goal and providing an assist in all competitions. While Sabitzer appears to be pushing to make his deal permanent in the summer, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils make that happen next season.
