How Arsenal have Lined Up Recently
In their last two fixtures, the Gunners have undergone a minor transformation at the top end of the pitch. Eddie Nketiah has been replaced by January signing Leandro Trossard, with the Belgian operating as a false nine. As usual, though, he has been flanked by Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo sake on the left and right-hand side respectively.
The midfield has also been disrupted, with Martin Odegaard and the industrious Granit Xhaka being anchored by Jorginho, rather than Thomas Partey as a result of the Ghanian sustaining an injury.

In defence, it has been more of the same, with a back four of Benjamin White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko protecting the ever-present Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks.
Arsenal Recent Form and Tactics
For the most part, Arteta’s tactics have remained constant throughout the season. The league leaders start games with overwhelming intensity, press high up the pitch and often utilise Zinchenko in an inverted full-back role which allows Xhaka to join the attack.
However, due to the aforementioned changes in the squad of late, there have been some subtle changes. Most notably, Xhaka has appeared to be playing slightly more conservatively since Partey’s injury, which is logical given Jorginho is far less defensively sound than the 29-year-old.
In terms of form, Arsenal appear to have come through their supposed blip, having won their last three consecutive Premier League matches. That is a run which has included two away victories as well as two clean sheets, meaning that the Gunners have restored their five-point lead over Manchester City.
Arsenal Injuries to Consider
Thomas Partey returned from his injury in the team’s 4-0 demolition of Everton, coming on as a substitute at half-time in that game. Arteta has explained that the player he replaced, Jorginho, has recovered from an illness that forced him off, whilst also confirming that Gabriel Jesus is “not far now”, although is unlikely to feature in this game.

Mohamed Elneny is also still ruled out with his own long-term injury.
