How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently

The starting eleven has settled a bit since the wave of new signings and injury returns. The back four has usually contained Reece James, Benoit Badiashile and Thiago Silva ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal, the only question mark is the left-back position which has been something of a coin toss between Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell.

Enzo Fernandez and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been the preferred partnership in the defensive midfield spots with Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Felix, and Noni Madueke filling in as the attacking midfield trio. Kai Havertz has been leading the line ever since Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang was dropped.

Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics

The Blues have set up in a 4-2-3-1 recently with no real turnaround in results. They are no doubt playing better than ever under Graham Potter, but it hasn’t been enough to get actual results.

Chelsea Absences to Consider

Potter issued an update on some key players in his press conference. The status of Chilwell and Raheem sterling remains up in the air. Sterling made his return from injury recently but suffered a setback and may not start, his England teammate is in a similar spot after being brought off in the defeat to Dortmund.
