Marcel Sabitzer put in an impressive performance in the Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Leeds on Sunday. After the game, he spoke about the chances of his loan deal being turned into a permanent move in the summer transfer window. He said: “It’s a loan and that’s all I can say [about that] at the moment.
“What I can say is I’m feeling very good here, I like the team, I like the club, I like the atmosphere at Old Trafford… so we will see what happens in the summer.”
Sabitzer’s Career So Far Recapped
The 28-year-old midfielder earned his reputation for excelling in the Bundesliga for the majority of his career. Marcel Sabitzer got his first big move after being signed by RB Leipzig in 2014 and after spending the 2014/15 season on loan at RB Salzburg, he started playing for the German club after that.

He made 229 appearances for Leipzig in his career, scoring 52 goals and providing 42 assists. Sabitzer opted to join Bayern Munich in 2021, but could not replicate similar statistics for them, scoring two and providing two assists in 54 appearances. The Austrian’s lack of game-time this season allowed United to convince him to join on loan, as he’s now getting regular playing time and aims to help the red half of Manchester end the season strongly.
