Who Is Harry Souttar?
Souttar is a 24-year-old Australian centre-back who currently plays for Championship side Stoke City. He suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in 2021, but has since returned and enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign with the national team.
He has made a total of seven league appearances for Stoke this season and still has plenty of room to develop if this move goes through.
Leicester City Defensive Woes
Given the Foxes’ defensive frailties this season – they have conceded 35 goals in just 20 league games this campaign – Souttar could be exactly the type of player Brendan Rodgers needs to steer his side away from the relegation zone.

In particular, Leicester have struggled to defend set pieces, and Souttar would certainly improve the side in that regard. He is an incredibly physical presence and is exceptional in the air; winning the vast majority of his aerial duels.
He will have to prove he has what it takes to make the jump up in quality, but he definitely has the raw qualities needed to be a huge success.
Other Potential Deadline Day Deals
The other big story of the day for Leicester City fans is the club’s late swoop for Leeds United winger Jack Harrison. The Foxes are continuing to work on that move and are desperate to get the deal done, but the signing hinges on whether or not Leeds are able to secure a replacement for the 26-year-old.

One thing is for sure though, with two potential deals still to be made, it is going to be a busy evening for Leicester City as they continue to push for both Harrison and Souttar.
