Two top Serie A clubs in Juventus and Napoli are battling it out for the signature of young Italian and Sassuolo striker Giacomo Raspadori, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. Raspadori has asked for a transfer as his goal is to play in the Champions League. Both Juventus and Napoli, of course, will be in the upcoming European competition.
Di Marzio also reports that Sassuolo want at least £33.4 million (€40 million) for the striker. Napoli have an agreement with Raspadori’s entourage, although haven’t met Sassuolo’s asking price. Juventus will be meeting with the player’s agents today.

A Rising Talent
Raspadori broke out last season, tallying 10 goals and six assists in 36 appearances. He wasn’t the primary striker on his team either, as that was Gianluca Scamacca who has now joined West Ham United. Raspadori primarily plays as a centre-forward, but has also seen a number of appearances on the left wing and as a second striker.

His success playing alongside a true striker is appealing to both Juventus and Napoli. I Bianconeri, of course, have Dusan Vlahovic. He scored 24 league goals last season and could form a terrific attack alongside Raspadori. Napoli have Victor Osimhen who scored 14 league goals last season. At the same time, Napoli desperately need to bolster their attack after losing icon Lorenzo Insigne to Toronto FC.

Raspadori is already climbing amongst the Italian National Team ranks as well. He has registered three goals in 13 appearances to date. Although Italy failed to make the 2022 World Cup, it’s a tough feat for a 22-year-old to feature as a regular striker for Gli Azzurri. In short, Raspadori is one of the most coveted youngsters in all of Italy.
