Bayern Munich Still Yet to Agree on a New Contract with Kenan Yildiz
The 17-year-old is a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Bayern Munich at the end of last month. The attacking midfielder had been with the Bavarian giants since 2012. After progressing through the youth ranks, he was last seen with the U19 Bayern Munich side and was part of the squad that went out in the group stages of the UEFA Youth League.
Yildiz is also a regular on the U17 international stage but, missed out on the Euro U17 tournament through injury. The attacking midfielder has made ten appearances and scored three times during his time with the Turkey U17 side.
Barcelona Also in the Race for Yildiz
Juventus are not the only European giant on the trail of the Yildiz, with Barcelona also holding a strong interest. The Catalan giants have reportedly been on the trail of the 17-year-old for a while.
The signing of the Yildiz would go in line with the youthful revolution undergoing at Camp Nou under Xavi Hernandez. The Blaugrana are set to gain a huge cash influx following the sale of their La Liga TV rights and the Barca Licensing and Merchandising arm of the club.
The result of the cash influx is likely to have a positive impact on the club’s transfer plans this season with several high-profile names linked with a move to Camp Nou this summer.
These include Franck Kessie, whose move has been confirmed, and former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.
