The Manchester United negotiations for Antony of Ajax continue to push forward. The player is a key target for the Red Devils, and there is hope that a £40 million fee can be agreed upon between United and Ajax, according to Rob Dawson.

Manchester United Negotiations for Antony Continue
A Bright Talent
Antony primarily plays on the right-wing, although his versatility up front allows him to play on the left as well as a more central attacking role. In short, he’s a major attacking tool to add to United’s arsenal.
Last season, Antony scored eight goals and provided four assists in 23 Eredivisie matches. He also stood out in the Champions League, scoring twice and providing four assists in just seven matches. As a 22-year-old, the Brazilian really stands out.
Of course, United are now managed by former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag. It comes as no surprise to see that the Dutchman wants to bring his former players with him to the Red Devils. He knows their playing style well and the potential that they hold. Ten Hag was responsible for the rise of major talents across Europe, such as Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt.
United have some holes to fill going forward. Cristiano Ronaldo played well, but he’s 37 years old now. Jadon Sancho did not live up to expectations last season. The same goes for Marcus Rashford. Antony can come in and instantly provide excitement and flair. Perhaps he’s not an immediate starter at United, but learning under a football legend like Ronaldo, while continuing his progress under ten Hag, certainly bodes well for a player holding tantalizing potential.
