The Serie A Defender of the Year in 2022, Gleison Bremer, is ready to depart Torino. The 25-year-old Brazilian centre-back emerged as a borderline elite defending option this past season and is ready for a new challenge. A number of clubs are showing interest in the player.

Reigning Serie A Defender of the Year Ready for New Chapter
A Growing Talent
There’s no doubt that Bremer is growing as one of football’s top defenders. Earning the title of “Serie A Defender of the Year” is no easy task, especially with the likes of Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan, Fikayo Tomori of AC Milan, Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci of Juventus, and Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli around. In fact, it’s even more surprising for a player on a team that finished in 10th place to win it. This certainly shows how special Bremer is as a player.
“It’s just a matter of time and then I’m going to leave Torino,” Bremer said to ESPN in quotes reported by Fabrizio Romano. “I’m considering some proposals, we’ll see.”
Bremer, of course, has been of interest to Inter. In fact, the player has had personal terms agreed with the club for some time now. Inter, however, have not found an agreement with Torino yet.
The player is a dominant force on both the ground and in the air. He routinely slowed down some of Italy’s top attacking options in Lautaro Martinez and Ciro Immobile. Serie A has long been known for it’s emphasis on defence, so Bremer should succeed wherever he ultimately decides to go. In addition to his defending prowess, Bremer is also a sneaky scorer. He’s scored 11 goals in his last three Serie A seasons which are top numbers for a centre-back. Bremer is a name to watch as one of the hottest defenders on the market.
