According to reports from Simon Stone, there is an indication that Marcus Rashford is set to stay at Old Trafford. It appears that the Manchester United and England star is not for sale this summer due to the supposed counter-productive nature of such a departure.
Stone tweeted: “Man Utd have been making it very clear they have no intention of selling Marcus Rashford. Given the number of players who have already left or have not much use for, losing someone they have would seem counter-productive. Just needs to rediscover his form.”
The Red Devils have seen departures in Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata so far with fellow star Paul Pogba seeming ever likely to re-join Juventus.

Rashford Set to Stay
As the reports suggest, Rashford may have been offered a lifeline with his boyhood club. It has been fairly clear that the forward’s form had dropped off significantly, particularly this season.
The 24-year-old made just 25 Premier League appearances in the 2021/22 campaign, managing just four goals and two assists. It was also his lowest accumulation of minutes played in a Premier League season, clocking in with just 1,233.
However, where this can be partly accredited to injury, a clear drop in performance was still observed overall amongst a poor Manchester United side who just scraped into a Europa League place this season.
This did not stop the England international from garnering interest from top clubs such as Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. However, these reports would seem to shoot down any other club’s hopes of landing Rashford’s signature.
A Potential Revival Under Erik ten Hag?
Following the appointment of Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager, the forward seems committed to staying and proving himself under the Dutchman.
The arrival of ten Hag could signal a major revamp across the United squad beginning this summer if given adequate backing. However, the club’s desire to keep Rashford in the red half of Manchester, as well as his alleged desire to stay and fight for a place in the rebuild, could indicate a return to form next season under the new management.
Competition in United’s attack is rife, particularly in Rashford’s preferred left-wing position. Therefore, he may have to adapt to a new system or position under the new boss, especially with the Qatar World Cup this winter where players are looking to put themselves in contention for selection with club performances.
