Leeds United avoided relegation on the final day at the expense of Burnley. As a result, the powers that be have been willing to spend big so the club can take that next step up. They have already landed USMNT midfielder Brendan Aaronson. Next up, Leeds United target Bayern Munich and Spain midfielder Marc Roca, as per The Athletic.

Where Would Marc Roca Fit in at Elland Road?
There were a lot of injuries plaguing Leeds last term and so new arrivals are much needed. Aaronson worked with Jesse Marsch in Salzburg and he may tap into a familiar market once again. Leeds United target Marc Roca may not have been managed by the American, but Marsch will be familiar with him following his brief spell with RB Leipzig.
Kalvin Phillips is, of course, the starter at the base of the Leeds midfield. He was sidelined for large parts of the last season though and his absence, along with that of Patrick Bamford, played a big part in their lack of success. This could be a fresh start for Leeds and Roca as beyond Phillips, there isn’t a whole lot of depth in that position.
Leeds United have turned their attention to signing Bayern Munich’s Marc Roca after finalising a deal for Rasmus Kristensen.

When it comes to adjusting to a new team, Diego Llorente, Junior Firpo and Rodrigo Moreno are all Spanish also, meaning it won’t be as much of a cultural reset as one might think. A player is more than just, first and foremost, they are a person and so the social aspects away from the field are instrumental.

What Went Wrong for the Leeds United Target in Germany?
Roca was thriving in his home country of Spain, so much so that a number of Europe’s elite were interested. The biggest teams in La Liga were monitoring the Espanyol man but it was Bayern Munich who won out. The 25-year-old spent two seasons at the Allianz Arena, only to make 15 appearances.
The new Leeds United target excelled in a mid-table Spanish team but was unable to break into the Bayern starting line-up. Even when Corentin Tolisso was regularly injured and others were struggling for form, he still wasn’t afforded the chance to play regularly. Teenager Jamal Musiala has now superseded him too so it seems that his time with Bayern has come to an end.
It has been a rocky road for Roca with the German champions but he has a few trophies to show for it all the same. The Leeds United target would be available at a reasonable fee and could make a big impact at Elland Road.
