£100k Per Week 25-Year Old Star Revealed as Manchester United’s Best Opportunity to Raise Funds

Manchester United's best opportunity

Reliable journalist Andy Mitten has revealed that Dean Henderson, who reportedly earns £100k per week, is Manchester United‘s best opportunity to raise funds from player sales this summer, with Newcastle United among the sides interested. The goalkeeper is of Premier League quality, and staying at Old Trafford as backup to David de Gea does not appeal to him.

Dean Henderson Revealed as Manchester United’s Best Opportunity to Raise Funds

Why He Could Raise a Significant Fee

Henderson is a Premier League level player, and there is no doubt about that. Couple that with his being just 25 years of age, and he becomes a very attractive prospect for many clubs, specifically in England’s top flight. His readiness to leave the Theatre of Dreams is another bonus for sides targeting his signature, as convincing a player to depart his boyhood club can be very difficult.

Having been first-choice between the sticks for Sheffield United during their remarkable first campaign back in the Premier League in 2019/20, Henderson has shown that he is a reliable option for teams targeting a top-half finish. For more, he should have about ten years of first-class football left in him, making him a long-term fix for any side’s goalkeeping issues.

There is no shortage of interest in his signature, either, with Newcastle United among the teams monitoring his situation.

Number Two at Manchester United

When he returned from his loan spell with the Blades, Henderson was considered a real rival to David de Gea, especially with the Spanish keeper coming off the back of his career’s lowest couple of years. The added competition seemed to spur De Gea on, however, as his form once again transformed and he had a fantastic 2020/21 campaign where Henderson struggled to get a look in.

In the campaign just gone, the 31-year-old continued his impressive performances, even recently winning the Red Devils’ Players’ Player of the Year award.

Henderson knows it will be difficult for him to compete with this, and he would rather be guaranteed first-team football than risk sitting around on the bench for the next 12 months.
