Juventus are showing interest in Argentine forward Angel Di Maria, according to Gianluca di Marzio. Di Maria’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain concludes at the end of this season and a renewal is up in the air. The player says that he isn’t sure if PSG are willing to renew his contract. With that being said, Di Maria reiterated that he wants to stay in Europe due to the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
“It would be ideal to stay another year in Europe and then return to Argentina,” Di Maria told Urbana Play in quotes reported by di Marzio. “Next season is the World Cup and it’s my last chance to be in it, I want to be ready.”

A Logical Fit
Juventus presents a great opportunity for Di Maria. His contract situation makes it even easier for Juventus to pursue the player. He would essentially replace Paulo Dybala, who’s set to leave the Italian giants this summer.
As of now, the two headliners in the Juventus attack next season will be Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa. Both these players are extremely talented and amongst the top forwards in all of Serie A. Juventus want to play with an attacking trident, however, so Di Maria fits the bill.
It would be a temporary one-year fix, most likely. Di Maria has stated a desire to return to Argentina eventually, and he’s 34-years-old. This season, however, in a very crowded PSG attacking front line, Di Maria has three goals and seven assists in 24 Ligue 1 matches. The production can still be there. Furthermore, the new-look Juventus is not as experienced on the pitch as years prior, especially upfront. Adding a vastly experienced player like Di Maria will certainly help the team in the Champions League. He can also serve as a mentor to the young attacking duo.
