Kylian Mbappe, a generational talent, sees his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expire this summer. Due to this, Real Madrid are showing heavy interest in the French starlet. Mbappe claims to have made no decision yet, but Madrid’s offer is on the table.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Madrid already has a “handshake and verbal agreement” with Mbappe. That’s not binding, of course, but it keeps them in the race. Di Marzio reports that Mbappe will see a yearly salary of €50 million with this deal.
PSG are not short on cash, however, and remain committed to keeping Mbappe as well. Di Marzio reports that nothing is concrete yet due to PSG’s financial capabilities. Madrid will be losing a big name in their attack in Gareth Bale, opening even more space for Mbappe’s arrival.
Real Madrid Remain Confident With Kylian Mbappe
An Attacking Sensation
Madrid have remained one of the top clubs in football ever since their Champions League dynasty came to a halt, but something’s been missing. The team was in another dimension with Cristiano Ronaldo and hasn’t quite been the same ever since he left. Eden Hazard was brought in to replace Ronaldo, but that has not worked out. Mbappe makes sense as the ideal replacement.
At only 23-years-old, Mbappe has grown into one of the best forwards in all of football. This season, he holds 20 goals and 15 assists to his name in 28 Ligue 1 appearances. He also had six goals and six assists in eight Champions League matches before his campaign was cut short by Los Blancos.
The numbers of the past speak for themselves as well, such as 27 Ligue 1 goals in 2020/21 and 33 goals in 2018/19. Even in a crowded attack such as that at PSG, Mbappe continues to produce.
Producing at the club level has come easy for Mbappe, although he has yet to win a Champions League. Madrid, of course, is vastly experienced in this. His skills definitely do translate in major tournaments, as seen in his World Cup-winning campaign with France in 2018.
Madrid want nothing more than to have two sensational talents on the wings such as Mbappe and Vinicius Junior, with striking veteran Karim Benzema in the middle.
