Barcelona president Joan Laporta has distanced the club from young superstars Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, according to Fabrizio Romano.
“Haaland or Mbappé to Barca? The conditions I’ve been told about these two deals… we’d never accept to spend those figures, no way,” Laporta said to RAC1. “I see both of them really far from Barca.”
The two attacking starlets are on the cusp of taking over football. Haaland has been rumoured to join Manchester City whereas Mbappe has expressed interest to play for rivals Real Madrid, but currently plays for a star-studded club in Paris Saint-Germain. Expect rumours for other clubs to continue as Barcelona essentially pulls out of the competition.

The State of the Attack
Haaland and Mbappe would instantly boost any attack they’re on. With that being said, Barcelona’s attack as of right now is quite solid.
It includes the likes of Ousmane Dembele, Memphis Depay, Ansu Fati, Adama Traore, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, Luuk de Jong, and Martin Braithwaite. A lot can change over the course of the summer, however.
Traore and de Jong are in loan spells. Dembele’s name also appears in the news quite often regarding a potential move away.
Aubameyang and Torres, however, are dominating since their arrivals. They will be mainstays in this attack next season without a doubt. Depay remains very intriguing, although is battling injury. He will surely be a major factor next season should he remain.
With all this being said, it’s no surprise to see Barcelona active in moves. Their attacks of the past have been lethal. For example, it’s difficult to find a better attack than that of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez. The Barcelona faithful are hungry for another purely dominant front line.
Xavi is changing the dynamics of Barcelona since becoming the manager. Barcelona are playing well and are back on track to make the Champions League. Surely Xavi will be actively improving this front line. The team is also active in upgrading other departments.
