The Italian giant continues to bolster their squad just days after completing a loan deal for Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens.

The Player and the Fit
Caicedo holds plenty of experience. He’s 33-years-old and has been playing in Serie A for almost five years. Before that, he was in La Liga with Espanyol. Caicedo knows what it takes to play in a top European league.
For Genoa, this season Caicedo has scored once and provided three assists in nine appearances. At first glance, those aren’t the numbers one would expect a new Inter signing to be bringing on. Not currently having his best season, Caicedo spent four years before that as a serviceable back-up striker for Lazio.
In 2020/21, Caicedo scored eight goals in 25 Serie A appearances. In 2019/20, Caicedo found the back of the net nine times and provided five assists in 30 appearances. Lazio were consistently fighting for the top four during this time, and Caicedo certainly played his part.
Inter makes this move as forward Joaquin Correa is set to be sidelined for at least the next month. Caicedo comes in to serve as a back-up option to Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko.
This is more shrewd business for Inter. They’re acquiring a very solid striker to fill in for at least a month or two for another that is injured. Inter is in the race for a couple of trophies this season and are showing no signs of letting up.
