Premier League Agree to Postponement

Antonio Conte’s side were due to face Brighton on Sunday in the Premier League in a bid to make more ground on the top four.

However, a Covid-19 outbreak affecting several players has led to the game being called off. The decision has been made due to health concerns, and the statement from the official Spurs website states that health has to be the priority at this time.

“The Premier League Board took the decision to postpone the game following guidance from medical advisers, with the health of players and staff the priority,” a statement said.

“The fixture will be rescheduled in due course.”

Rennes and Brighton Games to be Rescheduled

With the busy festive season of fixtures meaning games come quickly, Spurs are now looking at an even more crowded fixture list, with two games needing to be rescheduled. At present no dates have been given for either game.

The statement also offered apologies to both Rennes and Brighton, as well as supporters for any inconvenience caused for the postponed fixtures: “As with our other affected fixture, against Stade Rennais in the Europa Conference League, we shall update supporters with more information as soon as it is available.

“We should like to apologise to everyone at Stade Rennais and Brighton & Hove Albion and to both their supporters and ours for any inconvenience caused.

“We should also like to thank both clubs for their understanding during these challenging times.”
