Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Seven Preview

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 gameweek seven kicks off this Saturday as Manchester United take on Everton. With a break for international football coming up after this round, green arrows are more desirable this week than most for FPL managers.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Seven Picks

Quick Tips

The last break for international football caused a lot of mayhem with players getting deported and facing quarantines in Croatia. One hopes for better things this time around but the worry remains. FPL managers on wildcard must keep in mind that the South American players might just miss one match after the break.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Seven: Fixtures to Target

Chelsea v Southampton

Despite losing two games on the trot, Chelsea should beat Southampton this Saturday. They have a good chance of keeping a clean sheet as well. Saints have looked quite weak in front of goal so far with just four goals in six games. Interestingly, Southampton are unbeaten on their last three visits to Stamford Bridge. More on Chelsea later.

Manchester United v Everton

Both teams are level on 13 points which should mean a competitive game at Old Trafford. This fixture has seen plenty of goals in recent times with 17 in the last five. One has to wonder how many of the injured players will return for both sides with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw on the injured list.

Burnley v Norwich City

Burnley beat Norwich City 2-0 on both occasions last time the Canaries were in the Premier League. Three of the four goals were scored by Chris Wood and the other was an own goal. This looks like a decent fixture for Wood and the Burnley defenders. Dwight McNeil is also a decent differential option.

Fantasy Premier League 2021/22 Gameweek Seven: Teams in Focus

Chelsea’s fixtures for the foreseeable future look very comfortable indeed. In fact, their next five matches in the Premier League are probably the best one can hope for. However, Thomas Tuchel will likely rotate in most games so be prepared for their picks missing out from time to time. The Blues have lost back-to-back matches as well. The defeat to Juventus in the Champions League means they cannot take things easy in their next group matches. Romelu Lukaku seems rather essential for these five matches in October.

From defence and midfield, no one seems safe from rotation, although Antonio Rüdiger and César Azpilicueta seem to be starting most games. Marcos Alonso has started every game so far but the threat of Ben Chilwell always looms large. Alonso was taken off at halftime in midweek although that doesn’t mean much.

Trusting Arsenal to perform in the last few seasons has not proven to be prudent. However, the Gunners are playing well and have won three matches in a row after a disastrous start to the season. Their next five fixtures are decent although none of the opponents are rollovers. The thing that goes in favour of Arsenal is the fact that their players are quite cheap and they have a settled starting 11.

Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Martin Ødegaard are decent options from midfield whereas Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a relatively pricey striker option. From defence, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are available for selection. Aaron Ramsdale has cemented his spot as the number one and is a great option also.

Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City have reasonable fixtures coming up as well but they are not in great form. Consider Raphinha, Jamie Vardy, Raúl Jiménez, José Sá and one Wolves defender, although Patrick Bamford is still out injured.

Other Things to Consider

From other matches this weekend, Michail Antonio and Saïd Benrahma are decent options against impressive newcomers Brentford.

Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham United have tougher fixtures coming up although they are still expected to do reasonably well in those games. Liverpool are in sublime form and fixtures should not deter anyone from owning their players. Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss out this weekend but might be back after the international break.
