Vlahovic Wants Fiorentina Stay
Striker Looking for New Contract
During the summer transfer window, Fiorentina striker Vlahovic was the subject of interest from both Tottenham and Atletico Madrid, with the player eventually remaining in Serie A, and, now the player wants to end future speculation by signing a new contract.
Valahovic grabbed a brace in a recent 2-1 victory over Atalanta with tribalfootball.com quoting the player’s desire to stay, with Vlahovic stating that he never wanted to leave:
“I said many times that I decided to stay in Florence, nobody else had to decide for me. When the coach arrived, and the squad we put together, it’s good. At the end of the season, we will see if it proved to be the right decision, but I followed my heart. I am young, my moment will come and I just need to continue working like this.”
Dusan Vlahovic: Penalty Hero Last Time Out
The game with Atalanta was marked with controversy as VAR took centre stage with the home team having a goal disallowed before Vlahovic clinched the three points with two penalties.
Dusan Vlahovic told Sky Sports Italia that he has been impressed with manager Vincenzo Italiano and he has been a major factor in his desire to remain in Florence;
“We always believed in this team, from the moment we started working with the coach. We are just at the beginning, we must keep working hard, listening to the boss, being a team and then we can do great things.”
Romano has confirmed that talks are now taking place between club and player and Fiorentina’s refusal to entertain the €60 million offer from Atletico in the summer looks to have paid off.
