Real Madrid Pull Out of Kylian Mbappe Deal

Kylian Mbappe deal

After all of the talk, the potential of the most expensive transfer of the summer, the ‘tic tac’ from El Chiringuito, Real Madrid have pulled out of a deal to sign Kylian Mbappe, according to RMC Sport. The news comes as a slight surprise given the player’s clear desire to make his dream come true by landing a move to the Bernabeu, but, the fact is, Madrid were priced out of a move, with a demand of €200 million reported earlier.

In one year, Florentino Perez will take a look back at the short-lived saga with much relief. There was no need to splash out €180 million or potentially more on Mbappe this summer when he can land the Frenchman for free next year. It looks as though we’ll eventually see the forward in a Real Madrid shirt, but no sooner than 12 month’s time.

PSG Have One Year With Super Trio

With Mbappe seemingly off next year, Paris Saint-Germain have just one season to get the best out of their newly-formed trio of Lionel Messi, Neymar and the aforementioned Mbappe. They must use the year wisely, Mauricio Pochettino has no choice but to succeed with it. There is no doubting that it can singlehandedly propel the Frenchmen to their so-far allusive first Champions League trophy.

If Pochettino does fail in his pursuit of European silverware, then his job could be at risk. We’ve seen others sacked in Paris for the same thing with far worse squads. The fact is, those who sit at the top have handed the former Tottenham Hotspur boss every resource possible this season. Now, he must use them.

Thanks to PSG, it has been one of the biggest transfer windows of all time. In fact, if you cast your minds back to the very start of the summer, they kicked things off by signing Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos.
