According to John Percy of the Telegraph, Manchester City have made an opening offer of £100 million for Aston Villa star Jack Grealish. The Englishman has also been offered a new contract at Villa, leaving him with a big decision to make should his club accept the bid from the Citizens.
The offer could be one too good to turn down. That £100 million could see Villa form a side worthy of European qualification after they teased such a finish for the majority of last season. With Emi Buendia secured, too, the question is posed as to whether they are so desperately reliant on Grealish anymore.
Only time will tell whether the midfielder makes the move, but the pressure is certainly ramping up.
Manchester City Make Opening Jack Grealish Bid
Decision Time for Grealish
With a new contract reportedly on the table alongside the bid from Manchester City, Jack Grealish has a decision to make; the biggest one of his career. Should he stay or should he go? He could pursue trophies galore or he could pursue the opportunity to become the ultimate Villa legend.
He clearly has the talent to go anywhere he desires; he has the world at his feet, but what he does with that world is uncertain as of right now. At the moment, the ball is arguably in Villa’s court. They decide whether City’s offer is good enough and, if it is, talks should commence between Grealish and the Premier League champions.
The partnerships the Villa man would form at the Etihad is a scary thought for rival clubs. We are yet to see Phil Foden and Grealish together for England, but everyone knows the threat they would pose when singing from the same hymn sheet.
Under Pep Guardiola, too, he would reach new heights like many before him.
