Dutchman Donyell Malen is set to sign a five-year-contract at Borussia Dortmund with the deal to be completed next week.

Malen the Chosen One
The 22-year-old will put pen to paper on a deal through to 2026 in a deal worth €30 million. Malen is set to replace Jadon Sancho, who made his move to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window.
Accoring to respected Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, the striker is due for a medical in the coming days and will then formally be announced as a Borussia Dortmund player.
The Flying Dutchman
Malen has spent the previous four years in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven. His record of 81 games with 40 goals highlights his capabilities as a classic goalscoring forward.
Last season was his most productive in the Netherlands. The striker scored 19 goals in 32 matches with ten assists. Meanwhile, he shone on the european stage with a further seven goals in ten games in the Europa League. He is also an international for his country with two goals in 13 appearences. He featured at Euro 2020 earlier this summer as the Netherlands reached the Round of 16 stage.
The Virtues of Donyell Malen
Borussia Dortmund will be signing a player of great talent. His main virtues are his speed and impressive dribbling ability. His roaming runs bring danger to opposition defences. The Dutchman can play in various positions across the attacking line including left wing, second striker and as a main striker.
Therefore, he is not a direct replacement for Sancho – more of a versatile player. He will bring further fire power to Dortmund’s forward line which includes their star player, Norwegian Erling Braut Haaland.
The signing of Malen continues the German clubs’ process of acquiring and developing young talent to cultivate. As is the example with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Giovanni Reyna.
