Rossoneri Looking to Add a Reliable Backup for Theo Hernandez

AC Milan have reportedly identified Senegalese full-back Fode Ballo-Toure as the backup for Theo Hernandez. The Italian giants have been keen to add an understudy to the French star following their qualification to the Champions League.

The fullback joined AS Monaco in 2019 after an impressive spell with Lille. He had a decent debut season, but the arrival of Caio Henrique last year saw Ballo-Toure’s minutes drastically reduced. The 24-year-old made 29 appearances for Los Monegasques, but only started eleven of them.

A Busy Transfer Window for AC Milan

The Rossoneri have been very busy in this transfer window. The Italian giants quickly replaced PSG-bound Gianluigi Donnarumma with Lille’s Mike Maignan after the former announced his decision to leave the club. AC Milan then signed Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea after an impressive loan spell at the San Siro. Sandro Tonali was the latest to put pen to paper after AC Milan triggered their buy option for the 21-year-old defensive midfielder.

Fode Ballo-Toure is unlikely to be the last one to arrive at Milan this season. They’ll be hoping to add another attacking midfielder to their squad following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu.

AS Monaco Already Close to Signing Replacement for Fode Ballo-Toure

The Ligue 1 side are already in advanced talks to sign Ismail Jakobs to replace the AC Milan target, Fode Ballo-Toure. According to RMC Sport, AS Monaco are very close to agreeing to a €6.5 million transfer fee with FC Koln for the 21-year-old full-back.

Jakobs has made 45 appearances for the Billy Goats since making his debut in 2019.
