Liverpool players take stand against the European Super League should hit the headlines. The billionaire owners made a decision for the majority which would only benefit the minority- those with the deepest pockets.
They, alongside 12 others owners, thought they could take our game away from us. They believed the players would remain silent. They thought the fans would become complicit. They thought wrong. The fans have protested. The players and managers have made statements. And now the Liverpool players have decided to make a stand against the money-obsessed European Super League with one defying message.
Each player posted on social media: “We don’t like it and we don’t want it to happen. This is our collective position. Our commitment to this football club and its supporters is absolute and conditional. You’ll Never Walk Alone.”
For the fans. For the city. https://t.co/JrLav3fhTo

Liverpool Players Make Stand
Manchester City Confirm Exit, Others to Follow?
The idea that Perez was saving football was typical of the pantomime villain in which he was playing. He believed he could control the games fate, lure the fans in. But the fans make football what it is. Not billionaires. The last few days have proved that. Manchester City have now left, Chelsea will reportedly follow.
Now, with the players against the idea, surely FSG will follow suit? If not, they are at risk of losing the very personnel that won the club both the Premier League and Champions League. Without Manchester City, the money lessens significantly. Add Chelsea into the mix, and you might as well bury the European Super League right now.
The Liverpool owners have a small chance at slight salvation here. Do not be the last man standing. The players decided to make a stand, FSG’s power because of that one act of uniting it gone.
