One for the Future
Nikolaj Duus Moller has been at Malmo since he was 12-years-old but has not made it into the first team. His efforts have all come in the U23 and youth set up at Malmo. Arsenal will put the player into their own U23 squad and are not looking for him to go straight into the first team.
Moller is a player who holds the ball up well and has the attributes to become an all-round striker. Some have even compared the youngster to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which is some comparison to have.
Contract
The contract is reported by the Swedish paper Sportbladet to be for four years with the option of a further year if he performs well.
Serie A
Moller had a loan spell with Serie A side Bologna where he remained for 18 months. He played for the U18 squad in Italy before returning to his parent club.
Moller continued to train with the first team due to the promise he has shown. He has not made an appearance for the first team yet and sees the challenge of Arsenal as being key to him fulfilling his potential.
Steve Bould, Arsenal’s U23 coach, also has another talented forward on Folarin Balogun so the Swede will have to work hard to progress. Bould has been impressed with the tall striker and despite his height is known to be good on the ball.
