Upon completing a move worth up to £20 million from Bournemouth, Callum Wilson has reportedly travelled to Newcastle via helicopter as he looks to complete his medical as soon as tomorrow, according to Keith Downie of Sky Sports.
The transfer, which looks increasingly likely as time ticks by, will be Newcastle’s first of the window as they look to sharpen what was a blunt attack last season.

A Summer Turnaround
At the start of the summer, Newcastle fans were left to recover from takeover heartbreak yet again. As the Saudi takeover fell apart, so did the dreams of every Newcastle fan out there. They dreamt of Kylian Mbappé and Philippe Coutinho amid the billions in which the takeover would bring.
It wasn’t to be, however, and, instead, they were set for another summer of turmoil and lack of spending from Mike Ashley. But as Callum Wilson potentially walks through the door, reportedly alongside Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis, it has to be said that is hasn’t been a bad summer window for Newcastle.
Should they complete all three moves, they’ll have themselves a squad capable of pushing for a top-half finish. This may not sound much compared to the earlier Saudi dreams, but, at the very least, it will be an improvement of recent years.
Wilson the Goalscorer Newcastle Desperately Need
It is fair to say that since arriving last summer, Joelinton has failed to impress. The Brazilian scored just two Premier League goals last season despite costing as much as £40 million last summer.
To put that deal into perspective, for half that price, Newcastle are getting an experienced Premier League goalscorer. Callum Wilson scored eight goals in the league alone last season with 44 all-time goals in the top flight. When at his best, Wilson can provide any team with an unstoppable goalscoring machine.
