Recalled by Villans
Green, who was original with Preston North End, was recalled by Villa in order to go to The Valley.
The 21-year-old had been on-loan in Lancashire since August, playing six games and scoring once.
However, a lack of opportunities with the Lilywhites has led to Green’s recall and redistribution by Villa.
The signing adds valuable depth to the squad after Jonathan Leko was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
Leko requires surgery after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament in the Addicks’ 3-2 win over Bristol City on Boxing Day.
Green featured in a pre-season match for Villa at Charlton earlier this season.
Lee Bowyer: He Can Provide for Others
Green made 22 appearances during Villa’s promotion campaign, establishing himself in the first-team squad after a loan spell at Portsmouth.
Speaking to the club website, Addicks boss Lee Bowyer excitedly hailed the attributes that Green will bring upon his move to The Valley.
He said: “You need a bit of pace in the team and Andre has that. He can play out wide but also up top, like a Leko.
“Leko was an out-and-out winger when he came and we used him as a second striker and he got five goals and four assists.
“We’ll be looking for the same sort of things from Andre.
“In one-v-one situations he’s very good, he can provide for others, so we’re just looking to get him on the ball in the final third.”
Green is unavailable for Thursday’s Championship game at Swansea; however, he could make his debut in the FA Cup against West Brom on Sunday.
