City boss Pep Guardiola has been quiet on transfer targets; however, it is believed that de Jong is a player he would like to sign.
Guardiola has been impressed by the Dutch international’s displays and his ability to play anywhere in midfield appeals. De Jong has already been labelled as the new Johan Cruyff and appears to have a long and successful future ahead of him. With the likes of Barcelona also interested, City could face a very tough battle for his signature.
Higuain and Sarri to be Reunited?
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keen to link up once again with striker Gonzalo Higuain. Sarri wants a new striker in January and the Argentine international is top of his wish list. Higuain played for Sarri at Napoli, scoring 36 goals during the 2015/16 season.
Sarri has described the striker as a “goal machine” and believes he would be a success at Stamford Bridge alongside Eden Hazard. Sarri is prepared to offload Alvaro Morata, who has struggled with consistency. Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan from Juventus but Chelsea could be willing to buy out his loan deal to make the move happen in January.
Roma Chase Palace Defender
Patrick van Aanholt is reportedly interesting Serie A side Roma. Reports from Italy suggest that they are lining up a £25 million move for the Dutch international. The Italian giants are in the market for a new left-back and have identified van Aanholt as a major target.
The 28-year-old has impressed at Selhurst Park since his arrival from Sunderland. His performances have caught the eye of Juventus and Manchester City of late. However, it appears that Roma are about to make the first move. They hope that a bid of £25 million will be enough to persuade Palace to sell.
Lozano to Everton in Doubt
Everton target Hirving Lozano could miss out on a move to Goodison Park. The Toffees have been linked with the PSV star for some time but will refuse to pay more than they believe he is worth.
Lozano’s impressive performances for club and country had made him one of football’s hottest properties. Everton, however, have made a stance and will refuse to pay a high price for a player without Premier League experience. However, Everton’s director of football, Marcel Brands, has admitted if the price is right then they would be interested in a deal.
