Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (30) on the court during a break

Stephen Curry’s Rehab Progress Likely Sets Up Late-March Return

Encouraging rehab progress could see Stephen Curry return before the end of the month, giving the Golden State Warriors a major boost down the stretch.

Stephen Curry’s Rehab Progress Likely Sets Up Late-March Return

Here’s some good news for Dub Nation: their franchise star is trending toward a return near the end of March.

The Warriors are reportedly optimistic as Curry continues to make progress in his rehabilitation from a knee injury. While the team has remained cautious with the return of its starting point guard, the latest developments finally offer encouraging signs in the Bay. And it comes at a crucial time, as Golden State looks for its leader for help during the final stretch of the season.

Latest Update on Curry’s Recovery

Curry has appeared in just 39 of the Warriors’ 69 games this season as the team continues to navigate a difficult 2025-26 campaign. To make matters worse, the four-time champion has been sidelined for the last 19 games, which have been a crucial period for the franchise. Fortunately for The Bay Area franchise, he looks poised for an imminent return.

ESPN’s Shams Charania shared the latest on Curry yesterday, saying he’s been progressing well with on-court drills.

Charania adds that the process for Curry and the Warriors is ongoing, saying: “Now it’s about him building on this conditioning, getting more and more comfort in that knee before he’s able to make the call to make it back on the court.”

A positive sign in Curry’s rehabilitation is the lack of swelling and discomfort in his knee, which had previously prevented him from returning after All-Star weekend. He is set to be re-evaluated on March 21, with hopes of bringing even better news to the team and fans.

Positive Signs Emerging

With encouraging signs in his recovery, Curry has already resumed on-court workouts and even put up shots ahead of the Celtics game. Yet, Golden State has been playing it safe with their iconic leader.

As previously alluded to, the 12-time All-Star hasn’t played since the Warriors’ lost to the Detroit Pistons on Jan. 30. Last week, he underwent an evaluation, the team later announcing he could return to action in 10 days. However, at 39 years old, that timeline was just an estimate, ultimately dependent upon how his body responded to the treatment.

Can the Warriors Fight for a Playoff Spot?

Sitting 10th-place in the Western Conference standings with a sub-.500 record is a worrying sign for Golden State. Just as concerning is the fact that the Dubs have won just two of their last 10 games, and time is running out for a dramatic comeback. Playing their worst basketball of the season, a playoff spot is far from certain with just 13 games remaining, even with Curry returning.
All of which begs the question: Can Curry’s return revive the Warriors’ playoff hopes, or have they already left it too late?
