The Golden State Warriors have a long summer of decisions ahead. Latest News On Steve Kerr, Draymond Green and Al Horford

Golden State saw its season come to an end on Friday after falling to the Phoenix Suns in the final Western Conference Play-In game. The Warriors went 37-45 this season, marking their worst season since 2019-20. It is also the fourth time in the last seven seasons that the Warriors have not reached the postseason.

The Warriors currently have nine under contract for next season with salaries totaling $181.4 million. As a result, the Warriors project to be $12.4 million below the league’s cap. Draymond Green ($27.6 million), Al Horford ($5.9 million), and De’Anthony Melton ($3.4 million) all have player options.

Draymond Green Talks Future

Green figures to exercise his option, though that doesn’t mean he will be in a Dubs uniform. The 36-year-old forward is coming off one of the worst seasons of his career, averaging 8.4 points along with 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 68 games. He compiled shooting splits of  41.8/32.6/70.2 and wasn’t an NBA All-Defensive selection for the second time in three years.

I hope it’s not the end… I have a player option coming up this summer, and I don’t know what’s going to happen, Green said on his show via YouTube. “This year was a little bit different for me, even going through the trade talks at the deadline. Not quite sure whether I’ll get traded. I’ve never gone through that before…. Going into the summer, I don’t know. We’ll see. Ultimately, I think I’d love to finish in the place I started, but there must be things held up on both ends.”

It is possible that Green declines his player option and signs a multiyear extension that will be more cap-friendly this year.  Stephen Curry and Moses Moody are eligible for an extension this summer. Quenten Post and Pat Spencer are restricted free agents. The Warriors have one draft pick in 2026, currently projected to be the 11th selection.

Kristaps Porzingis, Gary Payton II, and Seth Curry are the Warriors’ unrestricted free agents.
