Holding three times the seating of the Frost Bank Center, the Alamodome is a monster and is still in use. This arena is where Tim Duncan and David Robinson met and is also where the Spurs became champions. There is something glorious about the Alamodome, whether it’s the name or the size. So why did the Spurs leave? It was simply too big to be primarily a basketball arena. Most impressively, it is where the Spurs returned to in 2023 to break the NBA’s regular season attendance record.

Frost Bank Center

The current Spurs home court has known multiple names. From the SBN Center to the AT&T Center and finally to the Frost Bank Center in 2023. It helps set the standard for what an NBA arena should be. Frost Bank Center has almost 20,000 seats and an excellent view from most of them. Although it doesn’t match the seat count of the Alamodome, nowhere else has matched it in terms of franchise success. It’s hard to imagine its banners hanging in any other stadium or seeing Gregg Popovich or any other Spurs legend watching their team on a court that didn’t help define their careers. For these reasons alone, it has to sit at the top of the list.
