The Moody Center

As someone who has seen the Spurs play in this arena personally, I can’t help but put it high. Sure, it won’t match the seating count of the Spurs’ official arena—in fact, it’s about half the capacity—but the smaller size makes you feel close to the players whether or not you are courtside. Despite its smaller size, the jumbotron, food and audio quality all match that of a real NBA venue. And although coming to Austin isn’t the biggest milestone in the Silver and Black’s history, the energy is something special anytime they play there.
Hemisfair Arena
The Hemisfair Arena was the original home of the San Antonio Spurs after changing identities and ownership from the Dallas Chaparrals. It was also the place Spurs fans were introduced to George Gervin, who later became the face of the franchise. Switching up from the Dallas days, the Spurs found a large 6,000-person crowd to cheer them on opening night. In the 1970’s, the arena was also expanded to fit an extra 6,000 people. This arena represented the birth and growth of the ABA Spurs but misses out on one thing its successors don’t: Championships. However, its historical value should not be forgotten just because it is not at the top of the list.
