It was already known that the Spurs and star Kawhi Leonard had issues, but reports just surfaced that Leonard officially wants out of San Antonio.

Reports say that San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard is looking to be traded out of San Antonio.

The ongoing rumors that Leonard is unhappy in San Antonio seem to be true. According to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, league sources say Leonard has grown “uncomfortable” with his situation due to mistrust with how the Spurs handled his quadriceps injury this year. While many speculated that Leonard and the Spurs were having issues, no one could have predicted that the 2014 Finals MVP would really want out of San Antonio that badly.

Los Angeles Lakers, L.A. Clippers, and Boston Celtics Most Likely Trade Destinations

While reports say that Leonard has not made it clear where he would like to be traded, many teams will want his talents. As tweeted by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Los Angeles Lakers and L.A. Clippers seem to be two of the most interested teams. The Boston Celtics, who reportedly tried to acquire Leonard before the deadline, will also be in the trade conversation. One thing any team looking to acquire Leonard will need is some cap room. He is only under contract through next season and reports say he will be looking for a supermax deal – worth 35 percent of the salary cap – once he becomes a free agent.

Most Realistic Trade Suitor for Leonard: Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are seemingly always a possible trade destination for star players. But this time, there may be some truth to the reports. L.A. has a plethora of young talent and future trade picks to give for Leonard. The Lakers also will have room for to max contracts, so they could potentially pair another star (or two) with Leonard in L.A. Paul George has been linked to his hometown team over the past couple years. Some even say there is a chance that LeBron James heads out west. Either way, the Lakers seem to have a decent chance of acquiring Leonard.
