The Clippers Curse Continues.
Los Angeles Clippers power forward Blake Griffin injured his big toe late in the second quarter of Game Three of the Clippers’ matchup with the Utah Jazz on Friday night. He would not return to the game. Although initial x-rays were negative, ESPN and other media outlets report this morning that the 28-year old All-Star is now out for the remainder of the playoffs with an injury to the plantar plate of his right big toe.

Blake Griffin to Miss Remainder of Postseason with Toe Injury
The Clippers won Game 3 over the Jazz 111-106 despite losing Griffin, and now hold a 2-1 lead in the first round series. Griffin had 11 points and six rebounds before leaving with the injury.
The Summer Ahead
Friday night may be the last time fans see Griffin in a Clippers uniform. Griffin, along with Chris Paul, becomes a free agent this summer. Paul is unlikely to leave, given his eligibility for the NBA’s new super-max deal and relationship with Doc Rivers. Griffin is injury prone and although a strong individual player, has not been a great fit with the Clippers’ offense. Moreover, the franchise has proved multiple times during the last few seasons that they can play just fine without him.
It’s time for the Clippers and Griffin to part ways.
