This was followed by a strong relief appearance in which he secured the save with a scoreless ninth inning in Game 5, throwing the final pitch to clinch the Dodgers’ eighth World Series title. Along with his four innings of shutout pitching against the Mets in the National League Championship Series, these performances helped Buehler end his season on a high note.
