The San Francisco Giants will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2014 World Series Championship during a pregame ceremony.
The 2014 championship marked the third championship for the San Francisco Giants in a five-year period, cementing manager Bruce Bochy‘s eventual induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame with as the tenth manager with three World Series championships. Because Bochy is currently managing the Texas Rangers, he is not going to be attending the ceremony. Neither is Brandon Crawford, as the infielder is in a similar situation, currently playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. Tim Lincecum, a two-time Cy Young Award winner for the Giants, is also not attending.

Giants to Honor 2014 World Series Team
The San Francisco Giants will kick off the festivities on August 10 at noon, prior to their 1:05 start against the Detroit Tigers. Gates will open just after 11 AM and the first 20,000 fans to enter Oracle Park will receive a 2014 World Series Aloha Shirt.

The 2014 championship marked the eighth in Giants franchise history. Their first five championships came while the squad was still playing in New York. They did not win a World Series in San Francisco until the 2010 squad defeated the Texas Rangers in five games. In 2012, they swept the Detroit Tigers in four games, becoming the first National League team to accomplish the feat since the Cincinnati Reds in 1990. As for the 2014 squad, they found their way into the postseason as the National League Wild Card, matching up against the Kansas City Royals and defeating them in seven games. In doing so, they became the 6th Wild Card team in either league to win the World Series. Madison Bumgarner took home the World Series MVP Award.
