Blue Jays Set to Debut New City Connect Jerseys Friday Night

The Blue Jays recently leaked their City Connect Jerseys. They will debut them on Friday when they face the Pittsburgh Pirates. The sneak peek and leak took place within the past week, but we have known for some time now that they would be getting them and that they would be debuting them against the Pirates on May 31st. The Blue Jays went with a dark-colored theme for these special uniforms.

Connections to Toronto

The jersey has “Toronto” in red and outlined in blue on the front. The jersey itself has the CN Tower on it, with several buildings across to represent the city of Toronto. In a nutshell, the jersey features an iconic skyline with dark blue and red colors. Many people on social media have commented and said they like the jerseys. The skyline is certainly a big part of the city of Toronto and ties in strongly with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The colors chosen for the jersey also allow for the jersey to stand out. The red and blue mesh well together with the black, and the skyline really pops out. We have also seen a photo released on social media of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. wearing the City Connect uniform. The Blue Jays will certainly look appealing in these City Connect jerseys. Could these jerseys go as far as being the most liked City Connect jerseys? Some of the other City Connect sets debuting this season were not so well-received.

Toronto Skyline Stands Out

These jerseys depict Toronto’s cultural roots through the skyline and do so in an aesthetically pleasing way. Some of the other City Connect jerseys have more funky colors, which may be why they have received some backlash. But the Blue Jays ones are more simple but classy at the same time. Using similar colors to their regular uniforms also helps.

Toronto’s new uniforms prominently display both the city of Toronto and Rogers Centre. The CN Tower/Rogers Centre area is a big tourist attraction and is also used in a Cavan Biggio Toronto Blue Jays bobblehead. This goes to show you that the skyline is a big part of the city of Toronto and the Blue Jays. It will be exciting to see the Blue Jays debut these jerseys on Friday, and if they can continue their hot streak after sweeping the Chicago White Sox.
