Clayton Kershaw
Clayton Kershaw’s return is sure to bolster the Dodgers starting rotation. The veteran pitcher is expected to start his bullpen sessions soon. Kershaw’s pitching was limited to 24 games last season. The southpaw held a 13-5 record with a 2.46 ERA. Kershaw, 36, has been a Dodger and could probably retire with the team.
Despite having top pitchers like Glasnow and Yamamoto, the Dodgers can use an experienced pitcher like Kershaw. When it comes to pitching in crucial games, Kershaw can come to the rescue—just like how the Astros use Justin Verlander against power-hitting teams.
Dustin May
Several Dodger fans are curious about Dustin May. The righty has been dealing with injuries for a long time. May’s return would power the team’s pitching squad and provide more rest for other pitchers during crucial games. May was placed on a 60-day injured list back in February. Now that he’s done with his elbow surgery, May will soon throw off the mound, and he hopes to return to the league soon. While there is no definitive date for his return, May is expected to have a strong comeback.
Bobby Miller
The Dodgers are also eagerly awaiting Bobby Miller’s return to action. Miller has already started his bullpen sessions and is expected to make a strong comeback. However, it could take a while for him to face live hitters. With several pitchers ready to throw, the Dodgers’ starting rotation could be dominating. More pitchers give more rest days.
On the other hand, Tony Gonsolin is expected to get back to pitching. The Dodgers have already added Walker Buehler to their starting rotation. Buehler will pitch his first game against the Marlins. It will be an exciting season ahead for the franchise as their pitching lineup is expected to improve.
