Brewers Dominating in the Milb

Several Milwaukee Brewers players show why they belong in Milwaukee. Milwaukee currently has six prospects on the top 100 lists in Major League Baseball. Four prospect hitters and one pitcher have delivered incredible standout efforts that have highlighted their potential in the Brewers organization.

Five Brewers Prospects Dominating the Minor Leagues Early This Season.

Cooper Pratt, Power and Poise

Shortstop Cooper Pratt (No. 55 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline) has hit his first homer of the season in Triple-A Nashville’s 5-1 win over Charlotte. Pratt has a total batting average of 49 points. Pratt signed an eight-year extension with the Brewers. Additionally, Pratt has strong control at the plate.

Marco Dinges: Power Intensifying at High-A

Catcher Marco Dinges, the fourth-round pick, is one of the strongest hitters this season. He has a total of three hits in his second game, beating Fort Wayne, winning 8-0.  This season, Dinges has been on top of his game, with four home runs and 13 RBIs.

During the 2024 MLB draft, the Brewers selected Dinges for his power, speed, and high-end competitiveness. Even though in 2022 battling a life-threatening illness, HLH disease, he stayed dedicated to baseball while overcoming the disease.

Luis Lara: New Level of Impact

Outfielder Luis Lara (MIL. No. 11), who won the Golden Glove in the Minor League last year, has crushed his career high fifth homer in Triple-A Wisconsin’s game, marking the first time he has homered in back-to-back games.

Therefore, Lara played overall in 26 games, with 15 walks and 12 steals, ranking among the international league’s best. He has tallied 218 points, higher than last season. Lara was signed as an international free agent by the Brewers Organization in 2022.  The team decided to sign Lara because of his speed and his high-level skill playing center field.

Braylon Payne: Power-Speed Threat

Meanwhile, the Brewers’ 2024 first-round pick, Braylon Payne, continues to impress in his first High-A season. He has a total of six home runs, and within his first year in the league,  Payne showed his athletic ability that impressed the Brewers.

Last season, he stole more bases than he had home runs, but this year was different as he had six steals and six homers.

This Week, the Minor League Season Is Fired Up

Lara launched his fifth home run on Sunday. Meanwhile, Blake Burke leads all Brewers prospects with seven home runs in High-A Wisconsin. Also this week, Brewers Prospect Jett Williams is in the spotlight. Despite a rough start, Williams did find something that helped the team secure a 7-4 win over Norfolk on Wednesday.

As of right now, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are currently leading the Midwest League with a 13-9 overall record.  Even though they lost to the River Bandits 8-0 on Thursday. They currently have several key players making the team look strong. With a few MLB players including Jackson Chourio and Andrew Vaughn that are currently on injury rehab assignments.
