Houston Astros Title Time Is Now

A Houston Astros title is close to becoming a reality. The MLB regular season is quickly approaching the end. With just a little over one month remaining before the post-season ends, the Houston Astros are one of the top teams in baseball. Alex Bregman and Jose Altuve have led the way for Houston as of late, as Carlos Correa has been out due to injury. With the regular season nearing the end, the team has to end their slump and enter the post-season on a streak.

Houston is seeking their first ever AL West division title this year. They have it locked up as of now as they are 28 games over .500 and 13 games ahead of the Los Angeles Angels for first place. Winning the division will be a start for the Astros, but they want the big prize.

The hunt for a World Series is in full swing in Houston. The team feels that they have the roster and depth to bring home the trophy. Only a few teams will stand in their way of completing the unthinkable. Obviously the Los Angeles Dodgers are the top team in the league, but Houston is right behind them.

The World Series could come down to the Dodgers and Astros as everyone anticipates that match-up for the Fall Classic.

Houston Astros Title Time Is Now

Taking the division is a task that Houston believes they can achieve. If the season ended today they would be crowned AL West Champions. Many see the Astros keeping their stride and claiming the division title. The team slumping enough to lose it is almost impossible. As the Astros seek the post-season once again, there are a few things they must do in order to remain a World Series contender through October.

Keys to Success in the Post-Season

Bring in another starting pitcher

Houston made a move before the trade deadline and acquired starting pitcher Francisco Liriano from the Toronto Blue Jays. Bringing in Liriano bolstered the pitching staff, but the Astros need another piece to solidify their roster. Talks with the Detroit Tigers about a trade for pitcher Justin Verlander have been in full swing between the two teams. Acquiring a versatile pitcher like Verlander would make the Astros’ pitching nearly unhittable through the remainder of the season. Both the Tigers and Astros need to make this trade happen quickly before another team goes after Verlander.

Get Carlos Correa Back

One of the key players in the Astros’ roster is Carlos Correa. He has been out lately due to an injury and the team is patiently awaiting his return. Houston’s success without him has been somewhat shaky, as the Stros win a few games, and then lose a few. This slump has been ongoing since the team started the year 42-16. Correa’s absence is felt within the play of the team. Getting one of their star players back will revamp this team on their journey to a World Series title.

Potential World Series Run

The Astros have been picked by multiple media outlets to reach the World Series. Their opponent could be a number of different NL teams. The Dodgers seem the likely opponent for the Fall Classic. The road to October is beginning to heat up and the Astros are in full swing of reaching their first ever World Series and clinching their first AL West title.
