Today in DDT: Tag Division Heats up

Chris Brookes vs Ninya Aoki Graphic

Dramatic Dream Team (DDT) recently held two important shows, and both had title implications. We had major revelations coming from the shows while taking a break from King of DDT rush. Let’s get into the major points that come from each of the shows including 37Kamina success and another double title match being made.

Summer Vacation 2021 Tour In Osaka:

Right off the bat, there are new KO-D Tag team champions in the 37Kamina group of Shunma Katsumata and Konosuke Takeshita. This means Smile Pissari (HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi) failed in their second defense of the title. This month has been rough for HARASHIMA given not only his own failed attempt at the KO-D Openweight title at Cyberfight Festival 2020 but now another big loss for him in the same month. Given it was him that took the pinfall this month has been confidence-shaking for the Ace and it will be interesting to see if and how he recovers.

But that wasn’t the only time we would be hearing from The 37Kamina. Not long after their title victory Yuki Ueno, MAO, and Shunma Katsumata announced their intentions to challenge for the KO-D Six-Man titles.

Castle Hot Springs presents Castle Hot Springs wrestling

This is one of the Rojo wrestling matches, that DDT has helped bring to the mainstream. This one is held in a hot spring and it was contested for the Ironman Heavymetalweight title which is currently held by Shinya Aoki. He would go on to defend it against Chris Brookes, Shunma Katsumata, and Yukio Naya. Yukio Naya would end up being the one taking the win.

After the match, Yukio Naya vs Chris Brookes in a double title match was set up for July 15. Chris Brookes will be putting up his Extreme Title while Naya offers the heavymetalweight championship. This will be the second double title match for Brookes during his reign, but it’s against the person who carried the Extreme Division during the Pandemic era of DDT. No stipulation has been named as of yet.
