On Tuesday night, Diamond Mine officially made their NXT debut as Roderick Strong was revealed as his presumptive leader. Strong attacked NXT Cruiserweight Champion KUSHIDA following the main event, making a massive statement in doing so. Along with Strong was Tyler Rust, Malcolm Bivens, and newly-signed Hideki Suzuki. They threw the championship onto KUSHIDA following the beat down.

Strong gave William Regal his papers a few months ago, resigning from the roster but had an opening to return whenever he so pleased. As the Diamond Mine teasers began to show around that same time, it’s clear that this was his goal to utilize as he moved on from The Undisputed Era.
Rust and Bivens have been a pair for a number of months now but were clearly missing from television recently. Their pairing with Strong is a surefire way to bring them both up the card. Bivens’ comments about Rust for months had been “a diamond in the rust.” It only seems right that they are part of Diamond Mine.
Suzuki is the most interesting one here, as he was one of the major names signed in the international recruiting class in April. Suzuki’s career spans all across Japan with time spent in Pro Wrestling NOAH, Big Japan, and ZERO1. His addition to the roster as part of Diamond Mine will see him in a major role from the start.
