US Indie Star Davienne Set For AEW Debut on AEW DARK

On Saturday, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) announced the line-up for the upcoming AEW DARK episode for this coming Tuesday, January 26, which featured many familiar names to those who watch AEW DARK, from AEW regulars to the multitude of indie wrestlers who have been working DARK during the pandemic. But one name was making her AEW debut, and that was seven-year indie veteran Davienne, who has been building a solid resume as one of the top women’s performers in the US indies and a potential break-out star in 2021.

A product of the New England Pro Wrestling Academy in 2013, Davienne started out in the New England indies, primarily with Chaotic Wrestling. In one of her first-ever matches, she debuted with Ring of Honor on ROH TV, facing women’s legend MsChif in a battle that went to no-contest. She would continue to work the local Massachusetts indie scene, honing her skills with the likes of Lucky Pro Wrestling (LPW), New England Championship Wrestling (NECW), and of course, Chaotic Wrestling. In the summer/fall of 2015, she would head to Japan and compete for Marvelous for several shows between August and October. She was already starting to collect championships at home as well, capturing the NECW World Women’s Championship in 2014, followed by a 385-day reign as the Chaotic Women’s Champion from 2016 to 2017.

She would soon break out of the New England scene, competing in New York with New York Wrestling Connection (NYWC) and Warriors of Wrestling (WOW), as well as larger national platforms like Beyond Wrestling. She’s shown great diversity in her matches and opponents, going from joshi to hardcore, as she’s competed in more rugged promotions like Hardcore Hustle Organization (H2O), Southern Underground Pro (SUP), and Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), and become a star with women’s promotions like Women’s Wrestling Revolution (WWR), Queens of Combat (QOC), and Womens Superstars Uncensored (WSU), where she’s the reigning WSU Spirit Champion. She made her debut with SHIMMER in November of 2019, where she’s continued to work. For the past few years, Maine’s Limitless Wrestling has been her primary promotion where she’s really found her groove, competing against both men and women.

For the past few years, Davienne has been a cult favorite with US indie fans, and now on Tuesday, in a match against Dark Order‘s Taya Conti, she’s finally getting the biggest platform of her career to show why she’s been such a beloved star on the US indies. Hopefully a sign of things to come.
