On Thursday, WWE’s Performance Center YouTube page posted a video introducing former EVOLVE Wrestling star Leon Ruff, and now PWInsider and Fightful Select are reporting that the 24-year old has indeed signed an NXT contract out of the fall-out of WWE purchasing EVOLVE Wrestling earlier this summer.
In the WWE Universe, EVOLVE star Leon Ruff had quietly become a WWE Superstar starting and has appeared on nearly every WWE program since March of this year, having appeared on Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Main Event, and 205 Live, with only NXT UK left as the sole WWE brand to appear on. Leon Ruff is a student of EVOLVE and US indie star AR Fox and has only been wrestling since 2017, but the young man has impressed many and it appears he’ll now continue his career as a part of the NXT brand going forward. Fightful Select also states that Ruff won’t be the last EVOLVE star to be signed to NXT deals and begin working with the Yellow and Gold brand in 2020 and into the future.
