Chris Jericho & Mike Tyson Get Heated in AEW Over WWE Moment

Mike Tyson

On Wednesday night, Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle were tending to their wounds from Sunday’s Stadium Stampede war against Matt Hardy and The Elite, when he was interrupted by boxing legend Mike Tyson and entourage that included former UFC fighters Henry Cejudo, Vitor Belfort and Rashad Evans in tow. It resulted in a massive brawl to end Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite and it all started because Jericho was still mad about an incident from 10 years ago involving himself and Tyson.

Just over ten years ago, on the January 11, 2010, edition of Monday Night Raw, Chris Jericho was tag team partners with Mike Tyson against D-Generation X‘s Triple H & Shawn Michaels. But following the match, Tyson removed his black T-shirt to reveal a D-X shirt underneath and instead knocked Jericho out. Ironically enough, that match had originally been proposed by Shawn Michaels for revenge against Tyson when Mike Tyson had previously turned on D-X to align with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin following Michaels’ WWE World Championship loss at WrestleMania 14 in 1998. But it was all a swerve, and Tyson returned to the D-X camp.

Mike Tyson was in Jacksonville with AEW to present the TNT Championship belt to Cody Rhodes after Cody defeated Lance Archer in the finals of the tournament at AEW Double or Nothing on Sunday night. Tyson clearly stuck around to enjoy more time with the AEW crew and now it appears we may not have seen the last of Mike Tyson in AEW. Will we see Chris Jericho face Mike Tyson in an AEW ring at AEW Fyter Fest?
