Preview: AEW Dynamite (5/27/20)

AEW Dynamite

All Elite Wrestling‘s AEW Dynamite returns this Wednesday to TNT.  Last Saturday was Double or Nothing 2020; a truly entertaining show which captivated audiences.  It had everything from AEW Championship brawls, great women’s matches and Mike Tyson, to horses, bar fights and golf carts.  This week’s Dynamite will seek to address the fallout from the show.  What does AEW have in store? Let’s find out!

Inner Circle Pep Rally

AEW Dynamite

The first segment advertised is an Inner Circle pep rally.  If you watched Double or Nothing 2020 at the weekend, you might remember the Inner Circle lost the first ever Stadium Stampede match.  Coming away from that, what will the Chris Jericho led faction address here? What kind of mood will Y2J be in? We can only imagine he won’t be best pleased with his side’s performance and The Elite‘s victory.  Tune in to find out what the Inner Circle have in store this week.

SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Scorpio Sky) vs Jimmy Havoc & Kip Sabian W/ Penelope Ford

After coming up short in the casino ladder match the SCU duo of Kazarian and Sky look to set their eyes back on the tag team division.  They take on the team of Jimmy Havoc and Kip Sabian who were a thorn in their side last week and during the ladder match.

Jon Moxley To Appear

AEW Dynamite

Following his victory of Brodie Lee at Double Or Nothing Jon Moxley will be at Dynamite.  It’s very likely we see him address his next challenger Brian Cage which leads us to…

Brian Cage AEW Dynamite Debut

Brian Cage made his shock debut at Double Or Nothing and dominated the competition to emerge victorious from the Casino Ladder Match.  The monstrous debutant makes his dynamite debut, one assumes his eyes will be firmly set on Moxley.

Britt Baker Addresses Her Injury

AEW Dynamite

During a tag team match on last week’s edition of Dynamite Baker suffered a knee injury that led to her being replaced at Double Or Nothing by Penelop Ford.  Baker being the role model that she is has vowed to make the announcement of her injury severity in person on Dynamite.

Hikaru Shida In Action

Following her AEW Women’s World Championship win Hikaru Shida will be in action on Dynamite.  It will likely be a tune up win for the champ but it will be interesting to see if a challenger emerges as we head towards Fyter Fest

TNT Battle Royal

Cody has announced that there will be a Battle Royal to name the first ever number one contender to the TNT Championship.  This is a fine opportunity to stake a claim to Cody’s fresh, new, bright red championship.  It was announced recently that whoever holds the TNT Championship remains number one in the AEW ranking system.  Therefore, everyone in the company will want to win this match.  Who are some of the contenders? Maybe the “Murderhawk” Lance Archer will enter, in a bid to seek revenge against the only man (so far) to best him.  Or maybe Brodie Lee, still licking his wounds after his AEW Championship defeat to Jon Moxley, will attempt to prove his worth.  What about MJF, who has history with Cody and is fresh off a big victory over Jungle Boy? Tune into TNT this Wednesday to find out.

Joey Janela & Private Party (Marq Quen & Isaiah Kassidy) vs Matt Hardy & The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

AEW Dynamite

Three men coming off losses at Double Or Nothing aim to get a win over three men that stood victorious at the end of the event.  The Bucks aren’t likely to forget that Private Party have a win over them, the most notable win of PP’s career so far and all three competitors will be hungry to get a win over some of the promotions top dogs.

Mike Tyson To Appear

AEW Dynamite

The last advertised segment of the evening is an appearance from Mike Tyson.  “Iron” Mike sat at ringside throughout Cody’s big TNT Championship victory over Lance Archer.  Tyson was clearly enjoying the match (don’t let the mid-yawn gifs fool you) and enjoyed the show so much that he is back for more.  Whereas he didn’t speak during Double or Nothing, he is very likely to here.  What does he have in store? Will this be a continuation of the feud with Archer and Jake “The Snake” Roberts? Or is this the beginning of a fresh new storyline? Or maybe he’s there to knock Chris Jericho out again? As ever with Mike Tyson, we don’t know.  One thing is for certain though: wherever he goes, he attracts attention.  This will surely be a good piece of business for AEW.  Tune into AEW Dynamite on TNT this Wednesday at 8PM ET!
