WWE Hall of Famer and 16x World Champion “Nature Boy” Ric Flair appeared on Busted Open Radio on March 27 to talk to hosts David LaGreca and Mark Henry. Flair was brought on to discuss his life and the renewed buzz in mainstream media from the ESPN 30 In 30 special that aired in 2017, that was re-airing on ESPN on Sunday, March 29.
As Ric Flair talked about his career, he mentioned that a biopic on his crazy life was in early stages and that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson‘s Seven Bucks Productions and WWE Studios – the team that created Paige‘s biopic Fighting With My Family in 2019 – were working on a project about his life and career. “I talked to Dwayne and Dany Garcia…and Hiram Garcia and they’re gonna collaborate, the last time I heard, for all this stuff and make a movie with the WWE with me with Sue Levison and that, who now is with WWE and is doing a fabulous job,” Flair said. “Sue’s got a great background. As soon as everything gets rolling again after that, they’ll make that movie. I am looking forward to that because I’ll have a lot of input.”
Flair also mentioned that a TV project was also in the works. “I’ve got a TV show coming out, again when Hollywood gets going” he continued. “And this will actually come out first, about my life in the 80s, which will be, I don’t know, probably come out at one in the morning and be Rated XX-R – they told me the names will be changed to protect the innocent, haha.”
