NXT

With WrestleMania weekend approaching us, NXT looked to deliver some Takeover worthy match-ups. Tonight’s card is filled with stellar match-up’s including the NXT North American Championship triple threat match. With that said, let’s dive in!

VELVETEEN DREAM CONQUERS BOBBY FISH ON PATH TO NXT TITLE

NXT

Velveteen Dream kicked off the show continuing his war on the Undisputed Era, this week meeting Bobby Fish one on one. Fish was fairly dominant early on, peppering Dream with a series of strikes. Velveteen tried to escape but ended up tweaking his knee while doing so.

True to his opportunistic nature, Fish targeted Dream’s knee for the rest of the bout. Dream was able to battle back and nail the “Dream Valley Driver” for the win. Dream took to the microphone telling NXT Champion Adam Cole his experience was coming and soon it will be “dream over” for the champ.

DEXTER LUMIS RETURNS IN A DOMINANT SHOWING AGAINST JAKE ATLAS

Rising prospects Dexter Lumis and Jake Atlas faced off, attempting to build momentum and establish themselves in NXT’s landscape. Though Atlas had a few highlights such as a nice arm-drag and suicide dive, this was a dominant showing by Lumis.

Lumis battered his foe with clubbing shots and ultimately picked up the win with an arm-triangle choke. Good showing from both young stars.

DAKOTA KAI BEATS IRON WOMAN SHOTZI BLACKHEART IN GAUNTLET TO EARN FINAL SPOT IN LADDER MATCH

NXT

The final spot in the number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship is on the line in this six-woman gauntlet match. Shotzi Blackheart and Deonna Purrazzo kicked it off and were largely unable to gain an edge against each other. Blackheart would be pick up the pin to advance in the gauntlet.

Blackheart had an impressive showing disposing of both Xia Li and Aliyah with the “Romero Stretch Dragon Sleeper” in impressive succession. She would then face off with Kayden Carter, in a very competitive sprint but would still manage to score the pin to advance.

Dakota Kai made her way to the ring, with Raquel Gonzalez at her side, looking to capitalize on Blackheart’s obvious exhaustion. Gonzalez would continue to be a difference-maker for Kai as her interference would open the door for Kai to nail the “Go to Kick” to score the pinfall, earning the last spot in the ladder match.

KEITH LEE RETAINS NXT NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP IN CLASH OF THE TITANS

Keith Lee looked to defend his North American Championship against Dominik Dijakovic and Damien Priest in a massive triple threat match. The three big men were able to highlight their versatility throughout the match-up.
