After nearly five years of brotherhood, Enzo Amore and Big Cass are no longer a team. As product of a month-long RAW angle, Enzo’s attacker turned out to be Cass himself. Even after the two seemed to reconcile the next week, Cass blindsided Enzo once more, totally sealing the deal. Now, we’ve got a classic “David and Goliath” storyline. Frankly, it’s clear to see what exactly the WWE is doing here. But let’s not focus on that right now. What can fans expect to come out of this feud? Truthfully, who can WWE fans expect to see come out on top this Sunday at Great Balls of Fire?
WWE Great Balls of Fire Preview: Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass
The Case for Enzo
It’s no secret; wrestling crowds love to root for the underdog. In part, that’s what got Daniel Bryan over. Now, does Enzo Amore have the intense indie background of Bryan? Absolutely not. However, he is still the David in this David vs. Goliath situation. For all intents and purposes, there is no way that Enzo should even be in this match. In kayfabe, he’s mostly there to be Cass’s mouthpiece and the one that secures the pin when they hit their tag team finisher. But now without all that, what is he like in the ring? Well, we’re going to find out this Sunday. If Enzo Amore can somehow find a way to win this one, fans are going to be behind more than nearly anyone else on RAW.
The Case for Cass
Take a look at Colin Cassady, or Big Cass, as he’s commonly known. Seven feet tall (and you can’t teach that), conventionally good-looking, and just an all-around star in the making. He looks like Vince McMahon‘s next “guy,” right? Right. And looking at him in this feud, there’s no way that he can lose here. With all the heel momentum at his back, the WWE is looking to make Cass into a monster if he defeats Enzo this Sunday. He’s got all the reasons in the world. But what is he can’t pull it off?
Final Prediction
This Sunday, Big Cass should be able to secure the win. At least for the first time on this feud, Cass is going to take home a victory. It seems like what WWE wants to do is have this feud end in a blow-off at Summerslam. Although have Enzo Amore win might make the storyline a bit more interesting, Cass is being primed for a push right now. WWE’s always been one for more short-term booking, and not much should change here. That’s my prediction, and I’m locking it in: Big Cass will defeat Enzo Amore at Great Balls of Fire.
