Taz Signs Multi-Year Deal with AEW

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) had its TV deal extended for another 4 years with TNT on Wednesday and as revealed in the press release, TNT is looking to add a second AEW broadcast to the channel’s line-up of shows. “In addition,” the press released revealed, “the parties have agreed to launch another night of AEW action, offering more of the fans’ favorite wrestlers, with a second show straight to series.”

On Thursday, AEW announced they had signed former WWE and TNA/IMPACT Color Commentator Taz to a multi-year deal, with Cody welcoming Taz “to the booth”. Taz was in Miami on Wednesday, calling the action for another episode of AEW Dark, with much speculation that AEW Dark will be leaving YouTube to relaunch on TNT. Taz previously appeared for AEW in a guest position on the October 22, 2019 edition from Philadelphia.

Taz transitioned to a color commentator role with WWE as part of SmackDown‘s booth alongside Michael Cole in 2002, remaining with the company until 2009. Following his departure from WWE, he showed up shortly after his leave with TNA, making his debut in the broadcast booth in August 2009. In 2015, he departed TNA. Taz made his pro wrestling debut in 1987 and throughout the 1990s became one of ECW‘s top stars, becoming a 2x ECW World Heavyweight Champion, 2x ECW World Television Champion, and 3x ECW World Tag Team Champion.
